SEA KAYAKING

“The storms come and go, the waves crash overhead, the big fish eat the little fish, and I keep on paddling.”

George R. R. Martin

Sandy beaches, calm sea, blue skies and the stunning scenery of the island can be explored kayaking.

Paddling gives you access to places that can not easily be reached.

Discover secret bays and beaches around the Island, maybe stop to have a picnic.

Residential birdlife is plentifull in Andøya and if lucky you will also get the chance to encounter seals. Seals can be curious about the kayakers and they tend to investigate.

If you are an experienced kayaker, then Stave is the place for you!

If you are a beginner, we run beginner courses (3hrs-course) in the weekends during the summer. This is for groups from 3-5 people and includes all the necessary  equipment.  (1200 NOK /person)

Please contact us if you want to have a course on another day than the ones we have put up on the schedule. We try to put out on our Facebook page when we arrange the different courses.

You can also read more about the course on NPF´s (Norwegian Canoe Association) pages here.   (Norwegian text only)

We do also run the NPF´s "Grunnkurs" that goes over two days (16hrs) when the weather-conditions and the time schedule allows us to arrange it. (3000kr /person)

You can read more about  this course here. (Norwegian text only)

Both of this courses are basic and you don't need to have any experience from kayaking before.
